Purple Sea Moss (Chondrus Crispus) grows on submerged rock in the Atlantic Ocean, Irish Coast and New England. Constituents.--Mucilage 55-90 percent carrageen (pectin), an abundance of sulphur in the form of sulphates of sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. It is a powerful demulcent, in the form of Chlorides, Iodides, Bromides, Phosphates and Sulphates of Sodium, Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium. All of them positive organic salts, absolutely necessary to the healthy metabolism of the Human body.. Used internally in the treatment of Bronchitis, Dysentery, Diarrhea, Kidney and Bladder disease, Scrofula, etc.
